The B250-Series Dead-latch
The B250-Series Dead-latch is a deadbolt-style lock with a dead-latch twist. One can think of it as a self-locking deadbolt. For decades this deadbolt has been considered the Industry Standard for tubular dead-latches. The B250 is ideal for backyard pools, apartment and condominium gates, and utility panels. It is often used in conjunction with electronic strikes, and is very popular in Quebec and Ottawa region “walk-ups”.
This Grade 2 product fits standard 1 1/2” or 2 1/8” (with optional adaptor plate) door preps and are available with Schlage high security cylinders. The 9/16” dead-latch prevents “shimming” the bolt with a credit card or similar tool. A hold-back feature will retain the dead-latch in a retracted position when desired.
Available in a wide range of finishes, it is possible to team the B250 up with any Schlage passage set or one of our many handlesets by ordering the lower half only in our FE285 configuration.
