WPR Wireless Readers

The Wireless Portable Reader from Schlage is the right product to use when you simply need to validate an access control credential.

Common applications include muster stations, check points, training attendance, special event access, perimeter expansion, and bus loading. A green light indicates a valid credential; a red light represents an invalid or denied credential. Since the WPR communicates in real time to an access control system, there are no databases to download either.

Range in a typical building is about 200 feet, including obstructions like cinderblock, brick, or plasterboard walls. Outdoors, you can expect a range of about 600 feet line of sight.

Technological advances and incorporated features include: 900 MHz Spread Spectrum technology for high-transmission power in a license-free band; Modulo 256 error detection for data integrity; periodic “heartbeat” signals for good communications between the WPR and PIM; and Dynamic Channel Switching to avoid potential interference.
